Waterdown Girls Fastball Program
Our Houseleague fastball program has been around for many years in Waterdown. We are known to produce some of the finest fastball softball players in the area. We compete in the Flamborough Minor Softball Association against Ancaster, Dundas, Greensville and more. In 2006 our Bantam Girls took gold. Fastball has a strong history in Southwestern Ontario and although hardball is a major part of the WMBA program today, we continue to offer fastball programs to our girls and it remains an active program in many communities in our area. The FMSA has programs for both boys and girls fastball. In a typical year the FMSA has almost 100 youth teams playing in the area.
What is Fastball Softball?
Fastball is a game similar in style to baseball, but with its own unique challenges. For instance, pitchers throw in a wind mill motion from a much closer distance, bases are closer and we use a larger ball. With shorter distances play is faster and relies and quickness and agility. Its a very exciting game which relies on bunting, stealing and cashing in on your opponents weaknesses.
