WMBA Wants You!

The success of the Waterdown Minor Baseball Association is made possible through the efforts and contributions from two streams within the community. The first is the efforts of the many volunteers of the community, and the second, is through financial contributions made by businesses and residents within the community in the form of sponsorships. Without both, the success of baseball in Waterdown can be in jeopardy.

Why Should You Become a Volunteer?
Making local baseball available to kids 4 and up is only possible through the efforts of the many volunteers to promote the enjoyment and skill development of the sport of baseball to children. Minor baseball and softball is an organization designed to build good citizens. It is a program of leadership, preparing today's youth to be tomorrow's leaders. At the local level, it relies on a devoted legion of adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization remains structured and runs smoothly. The WMBA is always looking for responsible and enthusiastic individuals to support and coordinate League events and activities - Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter – both on and off the field. As a volunteer, you should have a keen interest in the safety, well-being, and overall development of children. By reading further, you will discover that the benefits of volunteering are endless. You will also gain a better understanding of why you should become involved, who volunteers are, what you can do, and how you can sign up.

Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone can apply to become a volunteer. Whatever talents or skills you have, we can use them! Across the country, volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former players, friends, neighbours, and more. Any community member who wishes to become a volunteer may apply. On the field, the Association is actively looking for coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers for the upcoming season. Off the field, various Executive and Non-Executive positions are currently available within the Association and new sponsors are always welcome. There are lots of ways to get involved. If coaching is not for you, there are a number of other areas to get involved such as score keeping, helping out at the Annual Spring Tournament or helping with Wrap-up day.

Why Should You Become a Sponsor?
The Association’s policy is that every dollar from registration and sponsorship stays directly in the program. The Coaches and Executive Members are all volunteers, willing to spend their own time and resources to benefit the sport of amateur baseball. The Association relies on sponsors to help keep the sport of minor baseball available and affordable to the boys and girls of Waterdown.

How Do I Become A Sponsor?
Sponsorship comes at many levels depending on the contribution, and can involve league level, or team level, both houseleague and  our travel teams. If feel you have the capacity to become a sponsor for the WMBA, feel free to contact us through our online sponsorship form here.

Step up!  Your kids and your community need you.
