WMBA is now on Facebook - Search Waterdown Minor Baseball Association
Welcome
Welcome to the Waterdown Minor Baseball Association web site.

The website serves as the primary communication method between association members, coaches, players, parents, officials and the Executive.  Please read through some of the updated pages to learn more about the WMBA and our approach to baseball for our youth.

The site has also been successfully and securely providing online registration and payment functions for the past four years.  Once a season is under way the site will make schedules available online as well as send automatic reminders and reschedule notices.  Game and tournament results and standings are available for divisions where play does not extend into interlocked associations.

Take the time to browse the site and provide Feedback.

Baseball Registration In-person Saturday & Indoor Programs
by posted 02/02/2012

Reminder for our First in-person registration
North Wentworth Arena Saturday February 4th from 10 am to 2 pm.

New for 2012 - Indoor Houseleague Training

We have added indoor training for our Rookieball and Mosquito houseleague programs.  These programs are offered free, begin in February and are open to a limited number of registered players in these divisions.  Please register early to secure a spot.  See the In-door registration selection on the registration page once you have registered for Mosquito or Rookieball. Girls fastpitch indoor training is also available.

Future In-person Dates

In person registration dates are scheduled for February 4th and 18th at the North Wentworth Arena (Community Centre), Upstairs, from 10 am to 2 pm.

We have scheduled a 3rd date on March 3rd at the Waterdown Walmart (from 10 am to 2 pm).  Thanks to Walmart and Wilson Sports for making this program available for the WMBA.

Play levels are available for children born prior to and including the year 2008. Additional information on tentative weeknights and other info is on the website here.

We have not increased fees for the 2012 season. We will accept payment by cash or cheque at in-person dates. Payment by VISA or Mastercard is only possible through the online PayPal system. However as in previous years, rates increase after the March 15th deadline. This deadline is required to ensure schedules and uniforms can be prepared in time for the beginning of the season.

We have divided registration programs into sections this year to make them easier to find. The sections are:
1. Mixed Houseleague (Blastball, T-Ball, Grasshopper, Rookieball and Mosquito)
2. Hardball (Interlock - Peewee, Bantam, Midget)
3. Girls' Fastpitch (FMSA - all levels beginning for girls born 2003)
4. Rep Programs (Password required - Mosquito, Minor Peewee, Major Peewee, Major Bantam, Major Midget)
5. Junior Men (GHBL - waitlisting until viable team assembled)
6. Indoor Training (Girls Fastpitch now available, Mosquito and Rookieball Houseleague)

Looking forward to a great 2012.

Yours in baseball

Used Equipment - Can Find a New Life
by posted 01/29/2012

Have used baseball equipment and uniforms and don’t know what to do with it?

The WMBA has recently partnered with “Roberto’s Kids” collecting and distributing equipment to communities in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico. Any donations will be graciously received at our in-person registration dates February 4 and February 18th at North Wentworth Arena (upstairs) and throughout the baseball season.

Please ensure all equipment and pants are clean and in good condition.

Tentative Game Nights by Division
by posted 01/15/2012

Every year the most common question we receive is when different divisions will play.   As this doesn't change much from year to year, we should be able to put this information on the site.

The Season will start in mid-to-late May.  We can't provide a firm date, as the City of Hamilton must assess diamond conditions and approve them for use prior to our access.

So, tentatively these are the game nights that you should expect to have scheduled games.  Practice nights are at the coaches discretion and will be communicated once the season starts.  You may not have games scheduled, all nights, but these are the nights we reserve for each division:

Blastball:  Mondays
T-Ball:  Tuesdays and/or Thursdays
Grasshopper: Mondays and/or Wednesdays
Rookieball: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays
Mosquito: Mondays and/or Wednesdays

For older divisions and girls fastpitch, we can't provide weeknights at this time as scheduling requires coordination with multiple associations and will not be finalized until early May.  We do set aside tentative nights and more information is available in our New To Ball - Parents Page

If you aren`t sure what division your child qualifies for the Parents Page provides a convenient table by age or birth year.
