WMBA 2009 Spring Tournament

Congratulations to all those involved in the WMBA Spring Tournament. Players and coaches to spectators, officials and staff to volunteers; it was clearly a success despite the challenging weather.

A special congratulations to Bozek and Bozek (Black/White) Mosquito champions, Flamborough Review (Black/White) Rookieball champions, and Let's Landscape (Black/White) Grasshopper champions.

A special thanks to Sharon Hall, President; Greg Parker, Vice President; and Collette Somerville, Treasurer. Without their volunteer efforts the day simply would not have materialized.

I hope everyone is looking forward to the second half of the season and the championship weekend being held August 15th. We will need more volunteers for the wrap-up day weekend. Please contact with your offer to help out. Anyone can contribute with an hour or two across many different activities to ensure the day runs smoothly for everyone's enjoyment.

Finally, I would like to take the opportunity highlight and congratulate Sharon Hall, who was honoured this past Wednesday June 17th at the annual Hamilton Sports Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. http://www.thespec.com/printArticle/585142. It is the kind of effort put forth this weekend that earned Sharon the honour.

It is the volunteer efforts of many key individuals that enable the WMBA year in and year out to provide the opportunity for our kids to develop through the sport of baseball.

Local eateries Support WMBA
by posted 04/26/2009

This year we, The WMBA, have been able to partner up with two local restaurants, Boston Pizza and Turtle Jack's. Every time you dine at either of these restaurants, a percentage of your bill will be donated back to Waterdown Minor Baseball.

Simply deposit your receipts in the box provided at the restaurants with the words WMBA or Waterdown Minor Baseball on the back.

Go as a group. Go with your friends or family. Every time you eat at Boston Pizza or Turtle Jack's, everyone in our baseball community will benefit.

Thank you for your support.
